A Movie review on “A Moment To Remember”

“A Moment To Remember” is a Korean movie which shows true and unconditional love.  It displays heavy drama, comedy and a bit of family relationship which also displays parents’ love to their siblings.  In this movie also displays Korean way of living. The climax lies on the situation where the lady will be suffering Alzheimer’s disease.

The movie is good to watch especially this coming Valentines Day as it displays how love should be shared to the person you love.  For sure, your love for each other will be bonded again because of the sacrifices and twists which make this Korean movie one of the best Korean love affair movies.

The movie started on an incident when the guy named Chul Soo and the lady named Su Jin met in a convenient store.  Su Jin bought a soft drink but forget to grab it when she left.  Chul Soo and bought the same soft drink.  Su Jin returned and assumed that Chul Soo got the drink she had bought. This is their first encounter and afterward followed by other acquaintances despite their their social difference.  Su Jin is a daughter of a rich family while Chul Soo came from a broken family and currently working in a construction site where Su Jin’s father is one of the big bosses.

The next chapter is when Chul Soo and Sujin are preparing for their married life.  This also starts Su Jin’s Alzheimer’s disease manifestation.  Chul Soo had learned the situation and prepared himself on the possible situations that may arise in which it was displayed how deep is his love for Su Jin. Highlighted in this part is the way both parties respond to Alzheimer’s disease.

The last part of the movie are the effect the Alzheimer’s disease inflected to the couples.  The grief both parties experience, the sacrifices and all the things that come as a result of the disease were given emphasis.

This Korean movie, though sad, yet it is full of inspiring situation where you can show deep affection to your love one.  As mentioned above, your love should not only be cherished and remembered, but it should be done in way you will not expect any in return.  This movie is 100% a love story showing unconditional love.

This movie was launched during 2004 in South Korea and I have watched only yesterday.  Check it out, i am sure you and your partner or love one will enjoy watching this movie too.

Saving Private Ryan

“Saving Private Ryan” movie is one good movie of war and love.  War because of the introduction of the movie that it was almost the same with the “Longest Day” war movie.  Sometimes war movies are good to be watched especially if you want to develop brotherhood and comrades among your peers.

Saving Private Ryan, because of Private Ryan’s parents request from the General Headquarters for him to sent home from because all his brothers were also soldiers and had been all dead in the war.  The parents love from their children had caused them to make a move to the general headquarters to sent him home.

Tom Hanks as the Captain who led his troup to find Private Ryan had done all their best as soldiers to accomplish their mission.  They search all those companies in war and on their search, as soldiers in war, they encountered difficulties which includes feeling of civilians who were affected by the war.

Though the movies is done in war, it really does not focus in war but on saving Private Ryan.  This is actually the thought that made me write a review of this movie.  Since it is during war, dead, wounded and gunshots were ordinary in this movie, but the idea of following Tom hanks and his men on their search to save Private Ryan is one thought everyone should see.

I would like to recommend this movie to be watched by students especially those who are studying Literary criticism.

Phoebe in Woman

“Phoebe in Woman” is drama which features a twin (boy and girl) who were separated becuase of certain views father could take due to unaviodable birth defect.  The girl who name Phoebe was he second twin to come out.  The doctor, as the father of the twins and also the one who facilitates the laboring of the mohter notice immdate that Phoebe has a birth defect.

The father as also the doctor assumed that the child will not survive long and so he dicided, through the help of her nurse, the girl child should be transfered to another hospital where most of the patients there are with birth defects.  The nurse could ot take the situation of living the newly born child there.  Instead, the nurse decide to take care the child herself.

Since mother knew she has twins, as her husband what happened.  Covering the real action he did decide to say that the child is dead.  Mother then insisted a have a formal funeral ad prayer to her duaghter.  Not knowing that her child is being taken care by the nurse, mother had accepted that she lost a child.

Later in the movie, after the accidental sudden of the father, while mother and son were cleaning the    photo developing workshop of the father, they discorvered a secrete proving that Phoebe is still alive and is currently taken care by the nurse who was once the assitance in during the delivery.  Both mother and son go to the address stated in one of the letter.  It was a mother day then, and they see Phoebe in her woman age.

I would like to recomment this movie to be watched and be reviewed by students taking up Literary criticism as there are lots of twist where literary elements are being emphasize and not to include the values embedded in this movie, the student will also have the idea of parenting or guiding a especial child.
